It would be nice if the Space Needle added a camera to the back side of their place so we could see the mountains behind it!

Danny ray December 6, 2018 at 6:51 am

Why cant you keep web cans working what a joke

Marjorie Higginbotham December 1, 2018 at 7:30 am

The webcam for downtown Gatlinburg is pointing to the side so all you see is store fronts. It’s not pointing down the street like it was previously. I love ” visiting” Gatlinburg with the webcams. I hope this is fixed before the parade. Thanks!

Charles Smith October 29, 2018 at 8:54 am

Why not shut down the Space Needle web cam since its worthless. Sure not like it used to be.

Nicole May 15, 2018 at 1:27 pm

Need to add the Space Needle webcam to the ones that are out of order.

Jim March 11, 2018 at 4:01 pm

The new cameras at the Ober Gatlinburg are great. I wish they had some of these cameras down town.

mo March 5, 2018 at 11:46 am

Of the top 10 webcams, two were live :- ( Wonderworks and space needle. Wonderworks is an interesting building! :- ) And I think those are cherry blossom trees out front? Beautiful!

Jason February 23, 2018 at 12:13 pm

I live far away from Gatlinburg and can only come every few years or so. Please work on getting the cameras working so we can see this beautiful area from our home.We love coming to the area but can’t come this year or next due to health of our mom. She enjoys watching the webcams with us because she isn’t able to come up unless we bring her. Please!!!!!

Donald craft January 13, 2018 at 7:03 pm

We try to come to gatlinburg 2 times a year. We live 170 miles from gatlinburg in Athens ga love the Smokey mountions and pigeon forge tnn

Clund December 27, 2017 at 7:41 pm

Cameras have been down for a while, fire didn’t destroy them. Gatlinburg has a tax on all businesses in town taking a percent of the stores profit. They put flowers around and such….you would think they could put up some quality cameras and keep them working. the tourists want to be able to look at Gatlinburg when they cant be there… for us it keeps the desire to return alive.

Blizzard and Boo November 21, 2017 at 9:17 pm

It’s lovely to see new growth and the forward direction of recovery from the wildfires. Blessings to all this holiday season. We miss our friends and family in our smokey mountain home, but we’ll be there soon. I pray in time that funds will be available to replace those cameras wiped out by the fires. God Bless

Rod g September 14, 2017 at 6:55 pm

All the down cameras have been down for years. No one cares about cabin cameras. People want to see the weather, traffic , and crowded it is. If anything the park needs one at newfound gap to see true beauty of the smokies.

Ron July 27, 2017 at 2:26 pm

We was down there last week. the place looks the same after the fire . people need to go see the mtns Gatlinburg needs to put money in the web cams to

Billy December 9, 2016 at 9:23 am

Why can’t all the businesses get together and fund one or two cams. After all it is in their best interest to showcase their town. What about the Chamber of Commerce funding a cam?

Taylor December 2, 2016 at 9:07 pm

The Webcams are Probably down Due to the WildFires. This is just my guess. Hope The Area Can Recover soon! Me and My family are going down there in A Few Months. ~Hope Everything Goes Well, From- Alabama!

Terri November 29, 2016 at 10:20 pm

Love and good thoughts to all affected by the fires in Gatlinburg. I was there in 1988 for a marching band competition with my high school. I have never seen a more beautiful place.

jessie shadowens June 15, 2016 at 7:32 pm

james wells January 28, 2016 at 12:21 pm

L Hendricks November 2, 2015 at 11:26 am

Are the web cams ever going to be fixed? I would be willing to pay a small fee each year to help maintain them. If they are not going to be fixed, please take them off your list.

jacob November 2, 2015 at 8:33 am

if yall are not in charge of the webcams then WHO is and i will contact them my self !!!!!!!!!!1

marcus September 19, 2015 at 2:10 pm

webcams do make it nice.

Brenda September 12, 2015 at 2:12 pm

Well here it is Sept. Here is a list of all the webcams that are not working and have been down for awhile. If you are not going to fix them then just take them off your list. Cooters, Hog’s and Honey’s, The Space Needle, The Titantic, Blaine’s, Ripley’s Aquarium. We really enjoy using these webcams but the only one that is working is the one on the Mountain Mall.

Brenda August 15, 2015 at 5:19 pm

Wish they would hurry and get the webcams fixed and what happened to the Space Needle Webcam. Really like that one. Love watching the people makes me feel almost like I am there.

ron August 1, 2015 at 6:45 pm

i was in gatlinburg last week. great town but the people takin care of the web cams need to FIXS them

Brad June 30, 2015 at 11:33 am

Why did WATE take down their sites? That was some of the best views.

Linda June 27, 2015 at 6:47 am

Love the webcams but lately they are off more than they are on. Boo Who!

Jim L. April 14, 2015 at 4:58 pm

Count me in as another webcam lover! I”ve been to Gatlinburg I don’t know how many times but still like to peek in when I”m not there to see how things are going. I”m willing, too, to pay a small fee each year to have webcam use. But, as someone else said, they (Gat./PF) take in a lot of money (look at the taxes they collect) and the money that tourists spend there to justify using the webcams for advertisement and tourist information. I do realize though that the mentality of some of the people in charge there don’t really understand it so that’s why the webcams don’t get fixed. In all honesty, its a disservice to all who visit there and those who wish to come! Webcams can be a real lure!

rob February 18, 2015 at 11:31 am

It would be nice if the webcams worked.

Jen February 17, 2015 at 10:04 am

Please let me know if you plan to have the Mountain Mall web cam up and running! It’s been down so very long.

Linda February 7, 2015 at 2:01 pm

I really, really miss the webcams. We visit Gatlinburg and the mountains several times a year. The webcams keep us updated when we are not there. I love seeing the ones that show snow, fall colors, events that go on downtown and many other things. Please bring them back online.

H. Hendricks February 6, 2015 at 12:12 pm

I’ll pay $6.00/yr if you turn on the downtown Mountain Mall cam.

PColombari November 9, 2014 at 10:36 am

We will be visiting Gatlinburg for the first time on Dec. 2014, and I’ve been monitoring the weather since two months. I feel like I already know the place. It’s been of great help, since we are from Costa Rica. Looking forward to be there and come back again and again.

Scott A April 28, 2014 at 1:29 pm

Personally, I think the webcams are a great marketing tool. It is almost free advertising for the businesses. Some of the cameras that worked in the past, would take you right to the heart of the city. As some have stated, it’s like being able to be there when you arent there. I think there are some of us that truly love Gatlinburg and the Smokies, eventhough we may not live there. We just left Gatlinburg yesterday and I was telling my wife that it’s obvious the economy isnt that good yet because the people that originally had the money to invest in the cameras, no longer do.

Connie April 16, 2014 at 5:00 pm

Only 4 webcams work???

JW March 30, 2014 at 9:28 am

Wonder why my comments of a few days ago weren’t posted? In a nutshell, I think the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce/Visitors Bureau, or some coalition of businesses should be sponsoring several controllable cams around town. It’s obvious from many of the comments, they are quite valuable marketing tools. Wouldn’t it be just too cool to have one on the gondola going up and down Ober Gatlinburg?

Trina February 4, 2014 at 5:39 pm

I will be willing to participate in paying a monthly fee but I have a question… how much money does this town take in to not have them without the payment of people who just enjoy the pleasure of seeing the GB city streets remembering all the great times they had in the town. I have been coming to GB since 2009 and since the first I knew that is where I was going to retire. The web cams gave me a sense that I can be there even when I can’t. I know that may sound weird to some people but not for me. People would stop complaining on this website about the cameras if they had somewhere else to complain to.

Sandy January 29, 2014 at 2:11 pm

What a wonderful idea GSMVRO!

admin January 28, 2014 at 11:36 am

Hello Lorie
Glad to hear that you appreciate our list of web cams. We are pleased also that you noticed all of the Gatlinburg webcams have different URL’S than our own GSMVRO site. You are 100% correct in that we do not own nor do we maintain any of the cams listed on our page. And as you stated we have created this list for the sheer convenience of having all the cams listed in one place. Note to all of the dedicated Gatlinburg Web Cam fans: as always we(GSMVRO) do apologize for the cams not working but this is out of our control and we have no information regarding when any of the cams will be up and running. Nor do we have any contact information for the owners of the webcams.
On a different note we(GSMVRO) would consider taking over some of the better webcam locations that are not currently working. After some research High Definition pan, tilt and zoom cams with heaters and blowers built in that are capable of running in year round weather/temperature extremes(snow, rain) cost in excess of $2000. Extremely reliable hosting services that can handle the high definition(H.264) bandwidth of 100+ simultaneous viewers at a time and 30k to 40K viewers per month is extremely expensive(over $200+ per month) If we(GSMVRO) could obtain a reasonable number of subscribers for a new downtown HD webcam with picture quality far exceeding any other Gatlinburg cam we would gladly host the camera. Our Question to our blog viewers: Would 50 cents per month or say $6 per year subscription be worth it to view the downtown Parkway in high definition? If we get enough response we will look into this scenario further. Please leave a comment here if you would be interested. Please do not tell us you can run a Gatlinburg webcam for free or $30 a month etc, if you can do that let us know when your personal Gatlinburg cam is ready and we will gladly add your cam to our list above. GSMVRO is not interested in hosting a cheap quality, low resolution/blurry tiny screen web cam that crashes every time more than 3 people view it at once or encounters bad weather!!! If we are going to undertake this project we are going to do it right or not at all. We hope you all agree. Let us know if you like the idea?

GSMVRO would like to personally thank everyone who has footed the cost of these Smoky Mountains Webcams previously and in the future!

Sandy January 28, 2014 at 7:54 am

Who held ownership/service on the downtown cams?

Sandy January 28, 2014 at 7:53 am

Yes, I agree, Steve. Allow another person or organization to host the Blaine’s, Cooter’s and Aquarium cams.

Bobbie Dunn January 22, 2014 at 1:41 pm

NONE of the webcams work for me any longer. I used to watch them all the time. I’ve downloaded the “Video Converter” and the system has verified it’s installed. Nothing works any more. Is it because I have Chrome?

Arthur January 22, 2014 at 7:14 am

The best ones have been out of service for a long time. The one on the corner of Airport Rd. was the best and most interesting one.

macdodd January 3, 2014 at 4:24 pm

Why aren’t the webcams on the three locations downtown, working,,,,they were great, when working.

Janet Osburne January 1, 2014 at 5:55 am

Gorgeous, breath taking, absolute heavenly views of mountains.web cams ARE my stress relief! Doesnt get ANY better than this folks!

Ken West December 30, 2013 at 7:39 pm

Notice no new comments. It is hard to comment on nothing.

JW December 21, 2013 at 5:11 am

When will the Space Needle webcam be back up and running? Seems like its been down since late summer?.

Ron December 9, 2013 at 5:27 pm

This is bad all the web cams are down in gatlinburg ., but one!!!! Come people fixs the cams .

doug December 9, 2013 at 3:22 pm

we live close enough that most of our visits are spur of the moment, and the webcams have influenced the decision, please get them going again, it can’t be that hard or expensive.

Martha Weaver December 7, 2013 at 6:10 pm

Really miss the down web cams

Thomas Marcel December 6, 2013 at 12:18 pm

Thanks for posting the webcams. I love to be able to watch for when it is snowing so that i can head to Gatlinburg. But some of what used to be the best webcams, NEVER worked for a long, long time.
the site is: gatlinburgtnlive,com/gatlinburg-web-cam.htm

I have wrote to them several times and NEVER got any answers. It would be nice if you can maybe contact them to try and get them to fix their cams. They do not realize that some tourist depends on those cams to plan their trips to Gatlinburg.

Thanks for your help.
Thomas Marcel

I give up. There is nothing to see now. It used to be so great.
Thanks for ruining it.

Bill Davis November 11, 2013 at 10:12 am

I really appreciate the webcams. Please keep them updated and working. Being from Indiana, I enjoy going to the Smokies via the webcams … watching the action in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. My family loves going to the Smokies and we try to get there as much as possible. If at all possible, please add some more webcams, and, again … keep the ones you do have working!!!

Ron November 4, 2013 at 7:01 am

put the web cams back online . please all the cams are down but one. the mall cam is doing overtime please fixs them. thanks

Lorie October 24, 2013 at 4:34 pm

Just wanted to say I’ve visited this site often and really appreciate you posting this list of links to webcams in the area. It is very helpful having them all listed in one place. I can not believe the complaints posted on this site about the ones not working. It is almost as if they think you have control over the cams. You would think they would realize this simply from all the different web addresses of the cams. Thanks again for making this list available.

polly m, doggett October 3, 2013 at 5:34 am
