I have stayed at several hotels in Gatlinburg and they have all been very nice. Never had to worry about any bed bugs. Love it and plan on moving there next spring.
Just returned last week from Gatlinburg and enjoyed it very much. Stayed at Park Vista Doubletree which was outstanding. Just love the Smokey mountains and walking through downtown. We took trolley from hotel which was perfect and did not have to worry about parking.
This place would be 1000 times better if they would some of the tons of money they get to improve the place. Bed bugs in most hotels that they will still charge you like $200 a night for, the streets are covered in gum and trash all the time, and many more awful problems but they just do not care
When I go to Gatlinburg I always stay in a hotel close to town so I can walk and not have to pay to park. The only time my car is moved is when I go to Cades Cove, Newfound Gap, or Roaring Fork, etc. Love the mountains and hope to move there soon.
We love Gatlinburg we come twice a year the spring & fall.I love the downtown camera. There used to be motels in the middle of town but got torn down for parking. We used to stay at Comfort Inn across from Gatlinburg Inn they were renting our parking space out when we got back we had no where to park. What the hell we paid $ 200.00 a night in October and couldn’t park. Now the new motels Holiday Inn, Marriott, Hilton, margarittaville is so over priced its not funny. The Gatlinburg Inn needs updated but there price is outrageous for an out dated motel. Then I went to national bed bug registry look out, most places has had a report of bed bugs an still want to charge $ 200.00 – $300.00 all they are doing is running there busy off. We donated to help after the fires. Now we stay in Pigeon Forge which is not much better, we keep all suit cases in garbage bags to keep from bringing bugs home. IT’S over priced for sure. Now we pick an choose carefully what we do when we go. We used to make reservations a year in advanced just to get the room we wanted. Now it’s gone. I do love the mountains so we keep right on coming back year after year.
As much money as they make you would think they would want the cam to work all the time to attract more far away dollars.
when the town burned a couple years ago ,the people pulled together with help and donations.now the motel owners almost doubled their prices on rooms, especially peak season. they think that we should pay more just to rest ,shower, and sleep cause more people come there
Why is the webcam always shut off during the fireworks and the parades? For all of us that cannot be there it would be nice to be able to enjoy these also.
I can’t think of anything better than spending spring and fall in the Smokies. Relaxing on the various drives through the mountains. Especially the Roaring Fork 12 mile auto drive at stoplight # 8. In the evening spending time on the strip and finding a cozy bench seat and people watching as well as vehicles. That in itself is worth the $10 to park.
Great restaurants, fun places to visit and bears. We saw 9 bears on a Sunday last year. You will seed all kind of animals on the nature drive.
Smokies is calling us and we will be back the end of May 2019.
Love to look at your little town. My family and I LOVE Gatlinburg. We live in Florida but we feel at home every summer when we visit. There is so much beauty and a lot to do if you like the outdoors. We hope we can move in the future at least an hour away so we can actually call Tennessee our home.
